Lifting & Hoisting Project Engineer

The purpose of the job as Lifting & Hoisting Project Engineer is to perform a combination of engineering activities, technical studies and projectmanagement.

• Assist with the planning an makes the engineering of all the lifting and hoisting Operations;
• Assist with the preparations of the lifts;
• Responsible for the technical execution on project;
• Assist the Supervisor for the Lifting Operations;
• Decides the configuration of the crane(s);
• Participate in the pre-job meetings;
• Participate in internal project meetings;

Must have:
Minimum of BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering. The Lifting & Hoisting Project Engineer will develop the skills required to apply mechanical and hydraulic engineering principles to complex problems. Such problems will include but not limited to: construction equipment (particularly cranes etc.) and operational procedures. Specific areas coved within this include crane design & operation, lifting engineering and operations, hydrodynamics, wire and rope lifetime performance, etc. This divers range of activities requires considerable breath of engineering knowledge and an innovative approach to engineering problem solving. Knowledge of project and program management procedures essential.

Open communication skills are essential in order to maximise learning from, and motivating of, fellow team members. It is expected that this will be achieved through task related discussions.

Professional experience:
At least 3 years of experience as Lifting & Hoisting Project Engineer;
Proven AutoCad experience;
Excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken;
